Change in IOP Fluctuation After DSLT
Glaucoma

This is a prospective, single-center, single-arm, observational study designed to evaluate the change in diurnal intraocular pressure (IOP) fluctuation following Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (DSLT) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) who are on 1-3 IOP lowering medications. The study will be conducted at one site and will involve three key visits: a screening visit, a baseline/treatment visit, and a 6-month follow-up visit. During the screening visit, patients will undergo a comprehensive ophthalmic examination, and eligibility will be confirmed. The eye with the higher IOP will be selected if both eyes are eligible. At the baseline visit, diurnal IOP will be recorded at three time points (9am, 12pm, and 4pm) before DSLT is performed. The primary endpoint is the change in diurnal IOP fluctuation 6 months post-treatment. Secondary endpoints include changes in mean diurnal IOP and the proportion of eyes achieving a reduction in IOP fluctuations of ≥1 mmHg. Exploratory endpoints focus on demographic variables associated with IOP fluctuation changes.

Observational Study to Investigate the Short-term Effects of Transcorneal Electrical Stimulation on Visual Performance
Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) Usher Syndrome Cone Rod Dystrophy

Retinitis pigmentosa and similar degenerative diseases of the retina lead to progressive loss of vision. TES therapy with the CE-marked OkuStim® System is a treatment approved in the EU for slowing the progression of the disease. Patients increasingly report short-term subjective improvements in vision, which have not yet been systematically investigated. This exploratory study is conducted to determine whether these subjective short-term effects can be measured, and therefore also be quantified, by objective tests.

Suzetrigine for Treatment and Reduction of Intense Discomfort After knEe Replacement PAIN
Total Knee Replacement Surgery Post-operative Pain

This is a prospective, randomized study. The purpose of this study is to evaluate if the addition of Suzetrigine, a new pain medication, to well established peri-operative pain regimen used for total knee replacement surgery will effect pain control. 1. Does Suzetrigine given pre-operatively decrease the total opioid consumed after total knee replacement surgery? 2. Dose Suzetrigine given pre-operatively decrease the visual analog pain scale pain scores after total knee replacement surgery? Study participants will be randomly assigned to receive either Suzetrigine medication or placebo medication.

Improving Cognitive Rehabilitation Outcomes
Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and mild TBI (mTBI) frequently co-occur in post-9/11 Veterans, and together are associated with worse cognitive performance, mental health, everyday functioning, community integration, quality of life, and treatment response than either condition alone. Additional comorbidities, such as depression and sleep disturbance, are common and further exacerbate these problems. The investigators will investigate Compensatory Cognitive Training (CCT) and Morning Bright Light Therapy (MBLT) vs Negative Ion Generator (ION), to directly target cognition, depression, and sleep disturbance and to improve CCT-associated rehabilitation outcomes. The investigator's randomized controlled trial in 144 Veterans with mTBI+PTSD across two VA sites will compare cognition, functioning, and other secondary outcomes following CCT+MBLT vs. CCT+ION. This study addresses the significant gap in services and evidence-based treatments for Veterans with mTBI+PTSD.

Guided Needle Insertion for Vascular Access
End Stage Renal Failure, Hemodialysis Cannulation

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine whether the study device can assist the cannulator with placing two needles during cannulation required to initiate dialysis treatment. Males or females with end-stage kidney disease who are 18 and older and not pregnant or breastfeeding can be included in the study. The main question it aims to answer is: Can the study device guide the cannulator to the arteriovenous fistula (AVF) or arteriovenous graft (AVG) and assist the cannulator with needle insertion into the AVF or AVG for dialysis cannulation?

Taking Measurements of a Gum Graft Site as it Heals
Gingival Recession

This is an observational study. The participants in this study will be patients at the Graduate Periodontics Clinic at The Ohio State University who are planning to get a gingival graft to treat their gum recession. Gingival grafts are a common way to treat this recession. The grafting surgery is not part of the study. The main purpose of this study is to better understand the normal healing of a gum graft. In order to do that, the investigators will take different kinds of measurements. 1. It is common for the tissue around the graft to have some swelling after the surgery. The investigators will measure the amount of swelling at different times as the graft heals. This will be done with a digital scanner which is passed over the area. 2. A device which measures blood flow will be used to see how new blood vessels are forming. This is also a device which is only passed over the area, so it is not invasive. 3. Saliva samples will be taken from around the teeth using sterile paper strips. This fluid will be analyzed for substances related to wound healing. 4. Participants will fill out questionnaires about their experience with the graft healing.

Health Promotion With Targeted Exercise Intervention for Decreasing Fall Risk and Inactivity in Aging Veterans With Obesity and Signs of Sarcopenia
Falls Sarcopenia Obesity

Falls are a major health risk for older Veterans, especially those with both obesity and low muscle mass or strength (sarcopenia), which together increase the chances of falling and losing independence. Many older Veterans have difficulty staying active and often lack information about how to safely exercise. While current guidelines focus mostly on weight loss, losing weight alone can weaken muscles and bones, which may actually raise the risk of falls and injuries. This study is testing the benefits of a virtual group exercise program combined with health education. The goal is to find out if exercise combined with health education is better at lowering fall risk and improving daily activity than health education alone for Veterans with obesity and signs of sarcopenia.
