Outcomes From Point-of-Care Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing in an Urban Sexual Health Clinic: A Randomized Trial
Neisseria Gonorrhoeae Infection Chlamydia Trachomatis Infection

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the impact of a point-of-care test for gonorrhea and chlamydia in people without symptoms who are seeking sexually transmitted infection testing. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the point of care test reduce the time to antibiotic treatment? Does the point of care test increase the number of people who have completed treatment by day 7? Researchers will compare the point-of-care test to a standard laboratory-based test for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Participants will be asked to provide a urine sample or vaginal swab for testing. They will also complete surveys about their experiences with the testing.

Clinical & Radiographic Evaluation of Concentrated Growth Factors (CGF) With Auto Transplanted Closed Apex Teeth
Concentrated Growth Factor

This study aims to clinically and radiographically evaluate the effect of Concentrated Growth Factors (CGF) on the outcomes of autotransplantation of closed apex teeth. Tooth autotransplantation is considered a viable treatment option for replacing missing teeth; however, its success may be influenced by factors such as periodontal healing and pulpal revascularization, especially in teeth with closed apices. Concentrated Growth Factors (CGF), as an advanced generation of platelet concentrates, are rich in growth factors that may enhance tissue regeneration, promote healing, and improve the success rate of transplanted teeth. In this study, patients requiring tooth autotransplantation will be treated using CGF at the recipient site. Clinical outcomes, including tooth stability, periodontal health, and presence of complications, will be assessed. Radiographic evaluation will be performed to monitor bone healing, root resorption, and periodontal ligament integrity over a defined follow-up period. The findings of this study are expected to provide evidence regarding the potential benefits of CGF in improving the success and prognosis of autotransplanted closed apex teeth.

Piloting a Learning Collaborative for School-Based Bilingual Providers Delivering Evidence-Based Interventions
Acculturative Stress Mental Health

This pilot feasibility trial is designed to evaluate an adapted Learning Collaborative (LC) as an implementation strategy to support delivery of the Supporting Transition Resilience of Newcomer Groups (STRONG) intervention in school settings serving newcomer youth. The LC will support bilingual school-based mental health providers delivering STRONG, a group-based, school-delivered behavioral intervention targeting stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, and externalizing behaviors among newcomer middle school students. STRONG will be facilitated by bilingual providers with participating students and their caregivers completing pre- and post-intervention surveys assessing youth emotional and behavioral well-being. The primary aim is to assess the feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of the LC for supporting school-based implementation of STRONG, with feasibility measured by participation in LC activities and completion of implementation supports, and acceptability and appropriateness assessed through provider and leader feedback. Secondary aims include examining whether provider and school leader engagement in LC activities is associated with STRONG implementation fidelity and youth outcomes, and exploring potential mechanisms linking LC engagement to fidelity, including provider self-efficacy, leadership support, and team psychological safety. School-based providers and school leaders (e.g., principals and superintendents) will participate in LC activities focused on shared learning, collaboration, and implementation problem-solving, along with ongoing supports such as structured team support calls, Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, and feedback forms during STRONG implementation cycles.

What Impact Does an Initial Psycho-oncological Contact Have on People With Cancer?
Cancer Psycho-Oncology

When diagnosed with cancer, patients or their relatives may, if they wish, on the recommendation of the treatment team and/or in cases of high stress, seek psycho-oncological support. This study investigates whether an initial consultation with a psycho-oncological specialist reduces anxiety and depression, improves quality of life, and whether patients subsequently make greater use of support services. Participants will be randomised, meaning they will be assigned to groups at random to ensure that the results are comparable. In the intervention group, participants will receive a detailed initial consultation with a psycho-oncology specialist and standard treatment. In the control group, participants receive standard treatment. To gather results, questionnaires are administered at regular intervals (at the start, after 3 and 6 months). The study lasts a total of 6 months. The study was developed by patients. It is being conducted simultaneously at several hospitals.

Behavioral Optimization to Overcome Obstructive Sleep Apnea Treatment Barriers
Sleep Apnea

Previous studies have shown that programs encouraging the use of OSA treatments can help patients use these treatments more often, but the improvement is usually modest. This trial will test if giving patients a decision-making tool when they are first diagnosed with OSA, and combining their responses from this tool into a supportive program, will improve sleep quality and help them use their treatment more regularly.

Impact of a Produce Prescription Program and Nutrition Education Intervention on Cardiovascular Health in Youth
Dyslipidemia Hypertension Obesity & Overweight

This study will assess the effect of a produce prescription program combined with nutritional classes on short and longer-term cardiovascular health in a cohort of children at risk for cardiovascular disease. The communities of interest we aim to engage in this project are children and adolescents in Boston and the surrounding areas with acquired cardiovascular risk factors of high blood pressure or abnormal cholesterol that are cared for at Boston Children's Hospital and who qualify or are enrolled in (1) Benefits under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008; (2) medical assistance under a State plan or a waiver of such a plan under title XIX of the Social Security. This project will create a first-time partnership between the BCH cardiology department and a produce prescription program (Fresh Connect) and will introduce services and resources not previously available to these patients. Participants will be able to use the Fresh Connect pre-paid debit card to purchase fruits and vegetables of their choosing from numerous local food retailers convenient to their own neighborhood. We currently do not have any healthcare-led social support networks amongst patients seen for evaluation of cardiovascular risk factors. As such, this project will introduce a new community-building resource amongst our patients by creating interactive, culturally tailored nutritional classes. The virtual nutrition classes will offer a friendly, interactive environment in which patients and families can share their experiences and learn from each other and from our dietitians. By fostering these relationships amongst patients/caregivers, we hope to decrease the stigma some families feel when their child is diagnosed with hypertension or abnormal cholesterol.

Methadone Perception Survey Study
Pain, Postoperative

This is a cross-sectional survey study to describe the perception of methadone in various groups, caregivers of pediatric outpatient surgical patients, surgeons, and anesthesiologists. There is little information about perceptions of methadone use for outpatient surgery of the caregivers of children presenting for surgery, as well as orthopedic surgeons and anesthesiologists. Therefore, this study aims to describe the caregiver perception for children presenting for surgery and its associations with the social determinants of health. The investigators hypothesize that children with caregivers residing in disadvantaged neighborhoods, preferring a language of care other than English, and who are of minority race and ethnicity are more likely to have a negative view of methadone use. Similarly, they hypothesize that orthopedic surgeons and anesthesiologists will also have a negative view of methadone use despite its potential postoperative pain benefits.

CIMAvax-EGF With KRAS G12C Inhibitor for the Treatment of Advanced, KRAS G12C Mutated Non Small Cell Lung Cancer
Advanced Lung Non-Small Cell Carcinoma Stage III Lung Cancer AJCC v8 Stage IV Lung Cancer AJCC v8

This phase II trial tests how well giving CIMAvax-EGF with KRAS G12C inhibitor (sotorasib or adagrasib) for the treatment of patients with KRAS G12C mutated non small cell lung cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Vaccines, such as CIMAvax-EGF, made from specific peptides or antigens may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells. Sotorasib and adagrasibare in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. They work by blocking the signals that cause tumor cells to multiply. This helps to stop the spread of tumor cells. Giving CIMAvax-EGF with a KRAS G12C inhibitor may be effective for treating advanced, KRAS G12C mutated non small cell lung cancer.

A Spiritual Health Intervention (PATH) for Improving Spiritual, Religious and Emotional Distress in Cancer Patients
Hematopoietic and Lymphatic System Neoplasm Malignant Solid Neoplasm

This clinical trial tests the feasibility and effectiveness of a spiritual health intervention (Personal Archetypes Toward Healing Trial \[PATH\]) for improving spiritual, religious and existential distress in patients with cancer. Many patients with cancer find their diagnosis to elicit challenges to their sense of connection, meaning, and purpose. This distress can significantly impact their quality of life. However, spiritual care interventions are often overlooked. PATH builds on multiple theories and therapeutic practices such as role-playing, archetype psychology, cognitive theory, emotion regulation therapy, and dignity therapy. PATH sessions cover topics such as individuation, intrapersonal meaning and worth, intrapersonal distress and faith, interpersonal distress and faith, and transpersonal distress and faith. The PATH intervention may help cancer patients shift their perspectives and access new insights for working through their spiritual, religious and existential distress.
